In May 2009, Mackay Musical Comedy Players are set to bring Les Miserables to a new generation of Mackay audiences.  Epic, grand and uplifting, Les Misérables packs an emotional wallop that has thrilled audiences all over the world.  The sung-through pop opera is ideal for a cast of exceptional singers and overflows with melodies that are already well-known to audiences.

Auditions will be held over the weekend of the 15th - 16th November.  All are welcome.

Mackay Musical Comedy Players brings you the tale of Angel Delight, a street wise madam, who unexpectedly inherits the family funeral parlour, and due to the terms of the will must keep the business "in the family" and operating for the next five years.  She engages the assistance of her colleagues, a dominatrix named Roxanne Pain, the naive and definitely dim Sherry, and Delilah, an obsessive compulsive cleaning transvestite, in her attempts to keep the business out of the hands of the fomer employee Robert Swipe.  Add an accidentally dead judge, his eccentric widow, and a lawyer who tries to keep the peace, and you have a show full of "black" humour, enhanced by a wonderful selection of music in the style of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Tina Turner and Shirley Bassey.
